The Puzzled Guardian
Evening Edition VOLUME XXXIV March 10th, 2001
Disgusting
by Guido Giovanni
What Clan Giovanni witness at closing court is nothing short of DISGUSTING!!! Clan Ventrue commits violent acts in Elysium in the spirit of childish antics with the Keeper of Elysium's blessing. Once again the Elysium is raped by the action of the Camarilla members. The leaders of the Camarilla, Clan Ventrue, have defiled this sacred institution. In still more childish behavior Ms. Soze tried to defend this little "play". She has brought shame to that great elder Alexander Soze. This is an example of Ms. Soze's leadership then Clan Ventrue is doomed to become the next joke of Sacramento. The tradition of Elysium predates the Camarilla. It is a sacred institution that prohibits violence. The Founders brought Elysium into the Camarilla. Clan Giovanni and Anarchs respect the Elysium. So why cannot the members of the Camarilla respect the Elysium? It is clear that Michael of Nosferatu must be replaced. He to has brought shame to Alexander Soze. Discharging any weapon is a violent act no matter the intent. The behavior displayed by the participants was stupid as it was childish. Clan Giovanni cannot attend a court that has no respect for its own traditions. The actions taken by members of Clan Ventrue is an embarrassment to ALL acknowledge and unacknowledged kindred of the city. Not to mention their sires'. So how can the place the citizens of the Camarilla meet in can still be called Elysium?

On Elysium
by Falstaff Jennings
I will qualify the following statements by saying that it is not my place to determine, as assistant keeper, the guidelines for dealing with violence in the Elysium. But here is my viewpoint, though it will probably surprise many of you--I do not believe that all violence in the Elysium building and the surrounding grounds is unwarranted. I believe there should be a place for dueling on the grounds…where it can be properly supervised. Bravo Mr. Wolfman and Mr. Crane. Good show. I myself have performed theater for kindred audiences in San Francisco and taken real wounds. You should have seen my Hamlet! But perhaps we should have warned those, who either feared for their safety or who might have been offended, that perhaps they should leave the main hall--escorted by the keeper or one of his assistants. But most kindred don’t have a problem with dueling. What about chaotic spur of the moment violence, even if the involved parties agree to it? As long as it does not breach the Traditions, occur during opening or closing Court, or otherwise disturb important citizens then I believe it should be discouraged but, sadly, tolerated. Better that than for these ruffians to nurse a grudge. Let them vent their anger where we can at least mitigate the damage. However, the gentle and nonviolent lady or gentleman, not inviting such rough behavior, must always be protected from unwanted and unwarranted attack in Elysium. The Elysium should be a place of sanctuary for those kindred who truly desire it—even if they are blood hunted scoundrels…as long as they stay in the Elysium proper or the grounds. Here’s how I would prefer, if I had my druthers, to handle a (hypothetical) situation wherein a Caitiff neonate, with no justification or prior consent, punches a neonate Brujah and besmirches his nose. I would personally intervene and prevent retaliation, (in the absence of the Keeper, my fellow assistant, the Sheriff or his deputies), then insist the Caitiff either make amends with the Brujah himself, or ask the Harpy for guidance and perhaps a ruling which will solve the matter, or suggest he go and wait for the Brujah behind the Elysium building and receive his due drubbing (under my supervision), or failing that I would see to it that the Caitiff is punished for a breach of the peace by another method. Of course, it is up to Prince Recoil, with the advice of his appointed keeper—Michael of Clan Nosferatu, to determine the protocols, even if it is zero tolerance, for dealing with violence in his Elysium. And I will rigorously enforce the Prince's Elysium protocols for as long as I don’t become overly bored or until my services as assistant keeper are no longer required, whichever comes first.

Keeper Shmeeper
by Jack Meholf
This past Saturday Alexander Soze stepped down as Keeper and relenquished the position to his assistant Michael of clan Nosferatu. The citys Kindred have doubs as to Michaels abilities as Keeper, But when asked about there opinion his only comment was "F*** em, they dont like who Recoil chose as Keeper take it up with him, I enjoy this job much better than any other city position I've been in, and as far as I am concerned I am here to stay". So will the Citys own "Sesame Street Stalker" flop? Who knows only time will tell.

Violence Shmiolence
by Jack Meholf
Opening court last saturday was running smoothly, just like any other saturday night. Until it was time for the Ventrue to speak. During that time Mr. Crane and Mr. Wolfman LLP. began arguing and challanged each other to a duel in the Elysium. The Giovanni seeing this became very upset by the situation shouting "NO!, VIOLENCE IN THE ELYSIUM, I WILL NOT STAND FOR THIS" and ran out in a hurry. No rumors as of yet if the Giovanni will or will not attend next week for court.

Ventrue Vs. Ventrue
by Les B. Inn
It was an exciting and amusing ending to closing court saturday night, when words were exchanged between Theodore Crane and Mr. Wolfmann both of can Ventrue. After a silencing from the Keeper of the Elysium, Mr. Crane challenged Mr. Wolfmann to a duel. The Giovanni in an outrage left the Elysium yelling," The Giovanni will not condone violence in the Elysium!" In the center of the Elysium Mr. Crane and Mr.Wolfmann exchanged gun fire and words. One insult spoken was by Mr. Crane stating that Mr. Wolfmann's,"..leadership was as good as a thrice blind Sulbri!" In the end it appeared that Mr. Crane was the winner, but some would argue for Mr.Wolfmann.

Asian Cultral Center Collapses
by Ghost In the Machine
A strange earthquake collapsed the entire Pan Pacific Cultural Center into itself. Deep underneath the PPCC, a deep hellpit was unleashing damned souls back into our reality. Demonic guardians stood in place to keep out any potential threats. Feint, clan Nosferatu, and Dr. Daniel Colloins, implemented an ingenious plan to defeat the Akuma. Using a pint sized Buddhist Monk and various religious symbols, the two guards were destroyed. During this time, Korvan of clan Tremere kept the old Acuma busy. At this point, the Acuma and his people took off to lead a raid on the Buddhist temple. Feint and Dr. Collins lead a small group of monks in to close the hellpit. Shorly after this, a small group of kindred intercepted the Eastern Kindred. The ensueing battle left eight monks dead and the Kindred from the east. nowhere to be found. For those who helped to destroy the cultural center, the Akuma has sworn revenge.

Commissioner Falstaff
by Chet & Paul
Pull ooooover, Pull oooooover. During court of last Saturday, the charming and virile Falstaff, gave us a taste of AUTHOR-I-TY. Falstaff's Fashion Police proceeded to award the well dressed Kindred of Sacramento, with Falstaffian and public recognition...and of course the usual sarcasm to those...let's just say who..."dress in the dark".
