The Usual Suspects?
by Rich Profit
Rumors, speculation, and heresay. All that has come from the death of one, "Chancellor" Soze. A startling and gruesome death for the long time Ventrue elder, and former Prince of Sacramento. But one must wonder, why? And who for that matter. Several have been brought forward as having motives. But no evidence has been brought forward to convict a soul. However, several names breeze by the fangs of the Sacramento Nightlife as being the murderor. Let's begin with Soma and work from there. Soma burst on to the scene one week prior to Soze's death, prophesizing the the fall of the Ventrue Elder. Good call or strategically planned assassination? Prince Recoil Sinclair. Soze's constant siding with Falstaff, and Soze's cancelling of Recoil's highly anticipated Fight League may have sparked our quick tempered Prince into murder? The two have been known to launch violent verbal volleys at each other, trying to demoralize and set the other off. Richard Crane. Under the thumb of Soze for so long can cause even the tamest of businessmen to take action against there Elders. Witnesses say they saw a man get shot in the leg in the midst of the assault, then Crane shows up in the next gather limping with a cane. Must have been a good shot, or a bum leg. Under the guise of the night, killers swing in and out of the city, between shadow and light, finding one, in a sea of murderous faces is next to impossible. But the legacy of Soze's death will only linger until that one is found. Who Killed Mr. Soze?
Project Apron-String
by Les B. Inn
With the recent increase of Neonates in Sacramento the Primogen have decided that the childers are uneducated in the ways of kindred society and are lacking the knowledge of athourity. So, the Toreador Primogen Shell Rivera and the Malkavian Primogen Dr. Collins have begun the education of the neonates called "Project Apron-String". Also, Prince Recoil stated that random ghoulings will be stopped. A kindred wanting to ghoul or embrace is to go to her Primogen so that the Primogen can ask Prince Recoil. Any unknown ghoulings or embracements will be punished with death
Events That Be
by Ghost in the Machine
Just another fang in the neck. Our fair city is suffering a huge problem. The lack of culture among our finer Elders. Two events coming in the next three months should give certain individuals a chance to shine and prove to the neonates that oder kindred can indeed do more than have werewolves crammed up thier behinds. On May 19, the Toreador are holding a talent contest on a variety of skills. On July 7, a street party will be held in the K Street Mall.

KINDRED QUOTE OF THE WEEK
If I find you, I won't care about the games you played. Only the promises I made to you. That is not something to joke about.

Primogen
by Crazie Jane
Ah the Primogen clan leader and/or voice, it is a much coveted position. It
is the most desirable of any position in the Camarilla. It is also the most
demanding. Each clan chooses via different means. It is very rare but in some
cities the Prince appoints them. To be Primogen is not a vainglorious
position. There are tremendous responsibilities. No matter how much a Prince
threatens, it is the Primogen that prevents intra-clan war. The Primogen sets
the tone for a clan on how they interact with the other clans. A bad Primogen
can cause more damage than a Sabbat war party. A good Primogen can literally
get away with murder. Those that step into the position by whatever means
find themselves with a mighty burden. This position is never to be taken
lightly.
Laibon
by Crazie Jane
The enigmatic Laibon was first encountered in the Moorish Kingdoms during the
Dark Ages. It is a "fact" that this bloodline has become extinct. However, in
my travels through Sudan and other Northern Africa countries I heard many
tales that they exist. The journals I read and the multitude of interviews of
the local cainites says different. They are/were solitary cainites, powerful
shamans who were a possible off shoot of clan Gangrel. They are said to
enjoy/enjoyed stories and riddles. Who are these vampires that wander alone
in a continent that at its heart there seems to be a malevolent force that
hates all cainites? To find out I followed a trail to Juba, Sudan. I was
heading out to a small town where rumored a Laibon frequent. However, an
Assamite warned me of dangers that I had no knowledge about. I heeded the
warning. Thus my quest ended. But I am positive that the Laibon bloodline
does exist. And they have a working relationship with the moon beasts of
Africa. It is clear that these cainites want nothing to do with any other
cainite. Thus they will remain an enigma.
One Hit Wonders
by DeathInWhite
Good: The city last meeting at elysium was at worst,
boring. At best, a good time to make new contacts or
"friends". Things seemed quiet with the trip to hell
in all its glory postponed until next week and several
kindred missing. However, the silent shadow of Soma
cast doubt into the hearts of several kindred as they
prowled and mused about where and if it would follow
through will threats made on the message board
previously. People were to be heard talking about
Feathers targeting as a joke or at worst, absolute
concern. Jests of fishing with bait went around and
yet, nothing happened. Which leaves everyone
perplexed still. New Kindred came in, and for once it
might look like most of them have some potential.
All in all, one night in the books that came out okay.
Bad: Soma is still potentially out there. Nobody made
inroads into who or what it is and why. The rumors
however, are already out of hand. Oh yeah, and a
silent city always makes for Kindred plotting.
