The Great
City of Sacramento

Now I came to the city,
expecting just to take a bus full of kin-jin to hell and back, and
possibly take a few souls for snacks and or Valuable, Need to Know,
Information. Well, the snacks were a good investment. I was terribly
surprised when, I'd estimate, half of the kin-jin I met sold their
souls to my master. I was even more surprised when their was a line
waiting for me when I got back from hell. It was all in all a very
profitable evening, for my master Mikaboshi. Once the Shrine is
built in Elysium, all of you will have easy access to make deals,
negotiate contracts, and so forth. As to thoose who I did not get a
chance to see, I have left an address you can reach me at to
finalize deals on the message board. As Corvan has made plans for me
to return to take another lot of you to Yomi, I shall be looking
forward to doing business with you all again in the future.

They came again with more
than just questions. Two Federal agents arrived at the Elysium with
human loaded down with surveiviance equipment. For the duration of
the night, they asked many questions, set up cameras and
otherrecording devices. After Micheal and Misery were informed of
the agents presence, they left. Anyone found communicating with
either agent will be bloodhunted.
Fight the Future

The City
saw the return of the FBI agents this week, this time in force as a
half dozen assorted freaks reminiscent of the Lone Gunmen arrived
and started schmoozing with the Harpy and Clan Tremere about
possible deals in the offing. The question and scanner fest ended
abruptly when the Primogen of Clan Toreador discovered an assortment
of electronic toys left behind in the Elysium by the gun-toting
humans. Lazarus and Montgomery were seen pulling something small and
metallic loose from the back wall of the Elysium building after the
others left for the night as well, but they left before the objects
could be inspected.

Taka has been named Employee of the Month for his fine work in the
United States. He has garnered more Kin-jin souls in one night than
our previous ten years of effort. Mr. Taka also beleives in service
as well as sales. The Western vampires are building no less than
three temples to our kind. They have even agreed to place a shrine
to Lord Mikaboshi in their inner sanctum! For his efforts, Mr. Taka
has been granted a sizable bonus. See how well Mikaboshi-sama
rewards his good servants.
The
Cause of the Punic Wars

It is believed by
many that what cause theCarthage/Rome Wars was jealousy of Clans
Ventrue & Toreador about how greatClan Brujah succeeded with
Carthage. There is much evidence that offers a more likely scenario.
It was for power: Power of what policies that theMediterranean world
would follow. Carthage at the time was a superpower in the
Mediterranean world. It was ruled by Clan Brujah. The Brujah of the
time were more attune to philosophy and scholarly pursuits. This of
course attracted asignificant amount of Toreadors. Toreadors pursed
artistic endeavors and played social warfare. Carthage became the
number one force in the Mediterranean world. Then Clans Ventrue,
Lasombra, & Malkavian either founded or tookcontrol of a city
called Rome. Rome was being led by two clans who are known for
leadership. The Malkavians were more likely seers and philosophers.
With these three clans at the helm, it is no wonder why Rome became
so powerful so quick. With Carthage the #1 power and Rome the #2
power it was only a matter of time before a war would happen. For
Rome it was more than likely pride. To be the #1 power in the
Mediterranean world at that time was a mighty significant position
to be in. Carthage did not want to lose any prestige. Nothing can
tick off an elder vampire like that of the loss of prestige.
Especially at the hands of a young upstart and Rome was a young
upstart. I do believe Rome initiated all the Punic Wars. In the end
Carthage fell. And Rome rose to glory. Few people today know and/or
cared that the city-state of Carthage existed.

Baal, Chief God of

Pronounced As: bal, plural
Baalim balim [Semitic,=master, lord],name used throughout the Bible
for the chief deity or for deities of Canaan.The term was originally
an epithet applied to the storm god Hadad. Technically, Baal was
subordinate to El. Baal is attested in the Ebla texts (first half
of2d millennium B.C.). By the time of the Ugarit tablets (14thcent.
B.C.), Baal had become the ruler of the universe. The Ugarit tablets
make him chief of the Canaanite pantheon. He is the source of life
and fertility, the mightiest hero, the lord of war, and the defeater
of the god Yam. There were many temples of Baal in Canaan, and the
name Baal was often added to thatof a locality, e.g., Baal-peor,
Baal-hazor, Baal-hermon. The Baal cult penetrated Israel and at
times led to syncretism. In the Psalms, Yahweh is depicted as Baal
and his dwelling is on Mt. Zaphon (Zion), the locale of Baalin
Canaanite mythology. The practice of sacred prostitution seems to
have been associated with the worship of Baal in Palestine and the
cult was vehemently denounced by the prophets, especially Hosea and
Jeremiah. The abhorrence in which the cult was held probably
explains the substitution of Ish-bosheth for Esh-baal, of
Jerubbesheth for Jerubbaal (a name of Gideon), and of Mephibosheth
for Merib-baal. The substituted term probably means "shame". The
same abhorrenceis evident the use of the pejorative name Baal-zebub.
Ascognates of Baal in other Semitic languages there are Bel (in
Babylonian religion) and the last elements in the Tyrian names
Jezebel, Hasdrubal, andHannibal. Baal-zebub, pronounced as:
bal-zbb[lord of flies], a deliberate Hebrew distortion of the name
of the god of Ekron.

Turk "Recoil" Coyle, once
top draft pick of the Maple Leafs, was spotted at game two of the
New Jersey/Colorado Stanley Cup Finals. Coyle who never played a
game on the NHL, grabbed much of the media attention back in 1995
after a serious car accident that ended his hopes of NHL stardom.
Pat Quinn, General Manager and Coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs,
earlier fined $10,000 by the NHL on May 10 for making physical
contact with Toronto Sun photographer Stan Behal, sat next to Coyle.
Quinn who was interviewed after the game about Coyle said "He had
alot of talent, a line of Sundin and him would have been one to have
been reckoned with...the Leafs and myself are just happy that he
survived the accident with his life." Coyle who was not available
for comment, left the arena with just 0:52 seconds left in the 3rd
period after a Brodeur stop that sent New Jersey to victory.
The Treaty of Tyre,

"The Treaty of Tyre of 1496"
is a most interesting document.For those that do not know it is an
agreement between the Camarilla and Clan Assamite. In reality it has
been more violated than a long hair pretty boy in a federal prison.
All it is really good for is posturing. However, its origins are
dark and frightening. When the Burning Times was reaching its peak,
anarchs of Clan Lasombra led an assault on their Antediluvian. Being
a no-nonsensegroup they realized they needed help. The Assamite
carried a reputation of diabolist and fearful efficiency. Thus it
was of no surprise that anarchs of Clan Lasombra enlisted the
Assamite. The task was not an easy one but it was done. The
destruction of Lasombra was a spiritual blow to many elders of the
time. Thus when negotiations of the Convention of Thorns began,
against the advice of Clan Malkavian, both Clans Assamite &
Lasombra was to be punished. Clan Tremere was selected to do the
deed. However, Clan Assamite put up quite a struggle. This stopped
suddenly and Clan Assamite accepted the judgment of the Founders.
Why? All there is are matters of speculations.Neither the power
mongers of the Camarilla and Clan Assamite will discuss the matter.
All clans have a copy of the treaty and it is accessible to vampires
ofthe Camarilla. It was meant to keep Clan Assamite from diablerie.
Yet, this has not really stopped anything at all except the
fighting. After the signing of the treaty the clan being assassins
became a valuable tool to the power mongers of the Camarilla. Many
Camarilla vampires have fallen to Clan Assamite paid for by other
Camarilla vampires. Clan Assamite still deals in blood.
