Infernal Warpath
Evening Edition VOLUME 45 June 2nd, 2001
City 4, Infernals 0
by The Howard
Despite the threats of damnation, despite the threats of violence against him, despite all of the retaliation promised him if he took action against the Infernals. Prince Recoil put his money were his mouth was. He told them it was coming, maybe he was being lenient, giving them a chance to flee the city. But they stayed a felt the wrath of the Recoil's Anti-Infernal sweep of the city on Saturday. Recoil and Egad systematically scoured the city, with assistance from a Camarilla representive, investigated all allegations and then proceeded to deal out punishments of death to four Kindred.

Minus One Beloved Scourge
by Dirty Sore
Well as we all know Xavier DeCosta has now left our fair city. He will be going to Europe to become Archon. Isn't that that funny? After his training by the Brujah Justicar he will be returning to the West Coast, but we're unsure of his exact whereabouts. To some he will be missed and to some this is a blessing. But don't get to comfy yet, Prince Recoil is sure to appoint someone more then qualified for the job. Rumor has it that Barbara Moore of Clan Grangrel, Michael of Clan Nosferatu, Dora Sinclair of Clan Brujah, and Prince Reooil's Hockey buddy Larry Larue the Gangrel Berserker are up for the position. But no final word has been spoken.

Hellride from the Shadows

Where only fools dare to tread. Treading in places best left alone is what some foolish vampires did last week. Almost every clan had idiots that went. Some sold their souls. Others went along for the experience. Those who sold themselves discovered that fate sometimes plays its hand much faster. Three Tremere paid a hefty price for their troubles. Korvan, Xavier Nightshade and Father Cockroach all died by the end of Saturday. Others have yet to be found. Its is said that a Setite made a bid to sell Recoils soul. One must have a soul to sell first.

The Father Returns
by Les B. Inn
It had been many nights since Father Natasha Seneschal of Sacramento left on his own personal crusade. After months of waiting he returned. The Father said that it was an enlightening experience and everything went well. The citzens of Sacramento were pleased to see his return. The Father seemed very eager to help out with the fading problem with the so called infernals. Well from all of us...Welcome Back.

Letter to my Childer
by James Sinclair
My Childer Recoil, I hope all is well with you. Hannibal and myself are still down in Mexico, but the Sabbat Dogs refuse to show themselves aside from an occasional hit and run strike. We have been unable to find the Red List member Pancho San Thomas. I don't understand Hannibal at times. He keeps mumbling sommething about number five. But by my count this will be only his second Redlist Member he will have Caught. Assuming, He succeeds. Other then that the nights are beautiful, and the women are deliciouse. Hope all goes well with you in the city by the River. You Sire, Archon James Sinclair. P.S. Hannibal wants to say hello.

A vampire who lost one of his fangs to gum disease was caught stealing blood from a clinic here three short months after police charged him with the same crime in San Francisco! In each instance, Roger Wasley, 58, was taken into custody after officers found him guzzling blood that he allegedly stole from blood banks in a series of break-ins that occurred between June and August. ONE-FANGED vampire, identified by cops as Roger asley. He tried to gum arresting cop's neck to get blood. After the second arrest, the vampire was ordered to undergo a psychiatric and physical evaluation that is still continuing today. "I've been a cop for 23 years and I've never been involved with anything like this," said a police detective who asked to remain anonymous. "This guy looks like something that just crawled out of a casket and except for a single fang that hangs out of the left side of his mouth, he doesn't have a tooth in his head. A couple of officers found him drinking blood from a plastic bottle and he made no bones about the fact that he had stolen it from a blood bank. In his statement he said: 'I don't have teeth but I need blood -- and this is the only way to get it.' " The vampire's thirst for blood first came to light in June, when he was arrested for possession of stolen blood in San Francisco. At the time, Wasley was described as being a man without a past. He claimed to be a native of Los Angeles but there was no record of his birth. Even stranger, he had no Social Security number or visible means of support. The address he gave to police turned out to be a cemetery. And in spite of his alleged crime spree, he had no criminal past. The San Francisco charges were eventually dropped. But Wasley found himself in hot water again when L.A. cops arrested him in August. The police source said: "I'm not going to sit here and say that Wasley is a supernatural being but doctors did tell us that he suffers from certain blood and nutritional deficiencies that could account for his thirst for blood. I'm also told that he has a bad case of pyorrhea, which is a gum disease that causes people to lose their teeth, or in the case of Mr. Wasley, his fangs. If you put two and two together you can see why this guy might want to break into hospitals and clinics to steal blood. He sure as hell couldn't bite anybody. That loose fang of his would fall out of his head." Wasley remains unavailable for comment while psychiatrists continue their evaluation. Meanwhile, police are trying to find out more about him. "We would definitely like to know what makes him tick," the police source said.

The Sacramento Shadow's
KINDRED QUOTE OF THE WEEK

The underdog always has a chance. If we can kill Recoil Saturday, then we might just show that we CAN back up my words.

Memoirs of a Ghoul
by Crazie Jane
It is most interesting to see ghouls who are allowed to post on the message board. It is very interesting to see that these ghouls address vampires as if they were their equals. Isn't Sacramento a wonderful place to be? First thing first, my opinion means jack shit. So it does not matter what I say, does it? ((^_^)) Speaking with two centuries of real life experience being a ghoul, I tell all those who never had to endure such a nightmare that being a ghoul means being a slave. Yes, slave. That's what it means to be a ghoul. Once a ghoul takes that third pint of vitae, a ghoul like a vampire is blood bonded. The metaphysical chains of servitude are firmly latched on. With each additional pint the blood bond is made even stronger. A ghoul is the ultimate addicted. Hooked on the ultimate drug, undead vitae. If you neonates think slurping an ecstasy lace mortal is invigorating, then you have never had vampire blood. I still remember my first taste. That firstdrink, it is mana from heaven. Vitae is a drug whose only draw back is that it makes you a slave. For a ghoul, you're in junkie heaven. Or hell if that regnant is a true monster. How about how a ghoul feels for his/her regnant? It is all, false. That is the hook. As a ghoul you become obsessed with your master. You will do anything for Master. Forget dignity. Forget pride. If Master tells you to kill yourself, you will do it. Because that is what Master wants. It will please Master. If Master poured your monthly allotment of vitae in a bucket of vomit, you will not only consume the contents but also lick that bucket clean. Yes, a ghoul will. Welcome to a ghoul's reality. Years ago I visited non-Sabbat Tzimisce in Romania for scholarly pursuits. I saw first hand how Tzimisce treat their ghouls. The phrase "a fate worse than death" is a direct reference to Clan Tzimisce. Then there are the regnant who have more than one ghoul. When Master is not looking the fur will fly. A ghoul always wants to be number one in Master's eyes. That vitae induced obsession will drive a ghoul to do whatever it takes to be ghoul number one. As a ghoul I murdered at least three other ghouls my master had. I also framed two others. Why? I was a ghoul and I was not going to play second fiddle to another of Master's slaves. It is most common for a vampire with a harem of ghouls to put much more effort in ghoul maintenance than that of a vampire with a single ghoul. Ghouls are slaves. Ghouls are tools. Ghouls can be very dangerous to their regnant. In the Camarilla, a ghoul's behavior is an indication on how well a regnant conducts him/herself in polite society. Many ghouls have been put to death because of some social faux paux. Usually it was insignificant. But hey, we're vampires of the Camarilla. Also status of the Master factors in.Then there are the vampires who delight in murdering ghouls. A ghoul's life is one of servitude, addiction, obsession, and blind obedience. Rare is the ghoul of a Camarilla vampire that is embraced. Finally, for those rare ghouls that are unbondable, they need to be killed.

America is on the verge of a devastating economic collapse far worse that the Great Depression of 1929! Millions of people with jobs that seem secure and savings that seem protected will find themselves -- overnight -- freezing on the streets, starving like dogs. AMERICA'S RICHEST men will be selling apples on the streets after American banks and other financial institutions collapse and leave them penniless. That's the alarming word from noted economist and Bible scholar Dr. Frieda Rastelle, who cites passages from the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Bible and other religious writings to support her terrifying claims. "The coming crisis will strike in late October," said Dr. Rastelle. "The government is afraid for the public to know how bad it's going to be. "And the people who feel the most secure -- the ones with lucrative jobs, health insurance, 401(k)s and retirement plans -- will be hit the hardest because they'll be the least able to adapt." In 1979, Dr. Rastelle earned her Easter's degree in economics. She worked in an advisory capacity with several major lending institutions before turning her considerable talents to Bible prophecy in 1991. "I was astonished at how accurately the Dead Sea Scrolls had predicted the Great Depression of 1929," she says. "Although, of course, the Qumran texts don't use the word 'depression,' they definitely say, in no uncertain terms, that the world's most powerful nation would suffer horrific hunger, joblessness and poverty -- and that it would begin 1,929 years after Christ's birth. "Since the scrolls were so on-target with the 1929 depression, I was curious to see if they might say something about any future economic collapse. "Amazingly -- sadly -- they do predict another breakdown, a far worse one than the first." In her book The 2nd Great Depression, Dr. Rastelle quotes the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Old and New Testaments and other Judeo-Christian writings to support these terrifying predictions: In a newly discovered chapter of Paul's letter to the Romans, he says, "Silver coins will become as worthless as ashes 1,999 years after the Day of our Savior. And many will starve and die." The second Great Depression will begin suddenly, and the wealthy will be unable to adjust. "As a fall from a cliff, so will be the descent to the rich from their station," says one ancient version of the Book of Lamech. And the book of Matthew backs up the passage by saying, "Many who are first will be last." Several Dead Sea Scrolls advise against saving money in banks because, even before the money itself loses all its value, the institutions that invest and keep the money will close. "Do not lay up for yourselves treasure on Earth," says Matthew, Chapter Six. "But lay up treasures in Heaven." A billion people will be penniless. Dr. Rastelle says rich people are already stockpiling food and cash in preparation. Crime and chaos will run rampant. The world will be in the hands of the most vicious and violent people. It will remain in their hands until Christ returns at the end of the age and, as Matthew, Chapter Five, promises: "The meek . . . shall inherit the Earth."
